That’s why our comprehensive approach ensures a simple process that maximises environmental and economic benefits for businesses and local authorities alike.
From your first enquiry to the production of biogas, electricity, and biofertiliser, we are committed to transforming food waste into valuable resources through innovative practices and outstanding customer service.
Enquiry and consultation
Getting started with BioteCH₄ is easy. Simply complete our enquiry form or give us a quick call. Once we receive your enquiry, we’ll ask a few basic questions to understand your needs, such as:
- Type of food waste and how it is presented
- Volume of waste
- Location of the waste
- Frequency of waste generation.
After we have this information, our team will connect you with the best-suited commercial manager. Your commercial manager will follow up with you, often visiting your site in person to gather more details and create a bespoke recycling solution tailored to your needs.
Lab Testing
The anaerobic digestion (AD) process works much like the human digestive system; it requires the right balance of nutrients to function efficiently. To ensure we’re feeding the plant properly, we need to test your food waste before accepting a full load.
Providing a sample is simple, and our expert Laboratory Analysts will get to work and return the results to your commercial manager within a few days.
Quoting and paperwork
Once your lab results are ready, your commercial manager will provide you with a quote. If you decide to proceed, you’ll need to complete a Waste Agreement Form (WAF), and an ISCC self-declaration.
Once these are signed, we’ll handle the rest of the paperwork, so you can relax knowing everything is under control. At this stage, we can also discuss long-term contracts to provide you with long-term security for your food waste disposal needs.
Haulage
With the paperwork complete, the next step is ensuring your waste is transported efficiently. We offer flexible solutions:
- BioteCH₄’s in-house transport fleet – A one-stop shop for collecting and disposing of oils and food waste.
- Trusted partner hauliers – Experienced and reliable transport providers.
- Your own transport – If you choose this option, a valid Waste Carriers Licence is required. As well as APHA animal by-product registration, if your waste is classified under ABP regulations.
We prioritise transportation options that minimise environmental and economic impacts, considering factors like distance and the most suitable collection approach. For example, some customers may need a skip on-site collected weekly or fortnightly, by weighing up your options, we can ensure the right solution for you, to increase your efficiencies.
Bookings
Once we know your full solution plan, and who your haulier is. Our admin and bookings teams will liaise with the plant and your haulier to ensure seamless delivery of your waste, at a time most convenient for you and your team.
We’ll also create a bespoke portal where you can access all your documentation in one place, for all your ongoing waste requirements.
Sit back and relax
Your waste has left your site with your trusted haulier, on its way to our plant to be generated into green energy, it’s now time for you to sit back, and relax! Your waste transfer note will be available on your portal within 48 hours after your waste is tipped.
Simple accounting
You will receive an invoice for the work carried out within 31 days of your load being collected.
All invoices are sent via email only to the email provided on the WAF, and you will also receive weekly statements to outline and summarise any outstanding balances.
Once you have received your invoice you can then contact our accounts team directly to arrange payment within your terms.
Each invoice will detail:
- Your purchase order number (if applicable)
- The tipping date
- The job reference
- Weight/quantity
- Container or material type
- Product type
- Waste transfer note number
- Unit price
- Total amount due
Renewable Energy Generated
After it has been through the process, your food waste will have been transformed into biogas or electricity—helping to power local businesses and the recycling process itself. During the spreading season, it will also contribute to a nutrient rich biofertiliser, known as digestate, for local farmers, supporting agricultural sustainability.
