Anaerobic Digestion: The Engine Behind Green Energy
We process around one-third of the UK’s manufacturing food waste, generating enough electricity to power over 100,000 homes. Anaerobic digestion is the preferred solution for food waste treatment in industries like food manufacturing, supermarkets, local authorities, and beyond. As demand grows, offering an integrated collection and recycling service benefits both us and our customers, ensuring seamless waste-to-energy conversion.
Anaerobic Digestion (AD) is a natural process that breaks down organic waste, such as food waste, in an oxygen-free environment. Instead of sending waste to landfills, where it releases harmful greenhouse gases as it decomposes, AD captures these gases and transforms them into renewable energy. This creates a sustainable solution for unavoidable food waste, supported by environmental regulations and circular economy initiatives.
The AD process begins with waste collection and transport to one of our sites, where it is separated from packaging and converted into a liquid slurry. Microbes then break it down into simpler compounds, with the final stage—methanogenesis—producing methane gas. This is captured for electricity generation or injection into the national gas grid, while the remaining digestate serves as a nutrient-rich biofertiliser for local agriculture.

We’re actively transitioning our fleet to lower-emission, Euro 6-compliant tractor units, further reducing the environmental footprint of our food waste recycling transport services.
When the food waste we process through AD is collected using our dedicated haulage fleet, it ensures a seamless and efficient waste management cycle. Allowing our customers to sit back and relax, knowing their waste is in caring hands, from collection, to secure destruction, to biogas production.

We offer a comprehensive, one-stop solution for the collection and disposal of oils, fats and food waste. Whether handling palletised, liquid or bulk materials, we have a modern and well-maintained fleet, fully capable of the job.
Our fleet includes 20 tractor units, 11 vacuum tankers, 5 curtain siders, 4 dedicated-purpose tankers, 14 bulkers and 2 hook loaders. We also provide 35-yard open and closed food skips, which can also be utilised as open-top skips for loading and disposal, ensuring a tailored waste management service for our customers.
With UK-wide coverage, we operate 24/7, 365 days a year, offering secure destruction and real-time vehicle tracking for full transparency. Our 17 group-employed drivers use electronic documentation via handheld devices for efficient and compliant waste consignments, before getting back out on the road. Plus, our in-house workshop keeps our fleet in peak condition, guaranteeing reliability and high standards of service for every collection and disposal need.
