Sharing Some Good News!

It’s February 1st and, for a lot of us the sun is shining today and there is a hint of Spring in the air! But, if you cast your mind back, just for a second to those bleak weeks before Christmas. The cold, dark, long nights the restrictions and the working from home measures in place, our teams stepped up to a challenge we asked for their support with.


Colleen at our Changing Waste plant organised a toy collection on behalf of the NSPCC for children who are in foster care, in children’s homes or between care and those who, during the recent difficult times with the impact of Covid-19, have had to rely on the support of local foodbanks.

Many of our staff were touched by this challenge and donated generously to the cause, we posted photos on our social media channels of the piles of colourful, interactive, noisy and creative toys and gifts they donated, and we were overwhelmed with the amount we were able to donate on behalf of the BioteCH4 group.

Last week Colleen received a letter from the NSPCC Grimsby Service Centre thanking her for organising the collection and pointing out just how valuable these donations were to the children and families of those in need. Last year (2020) was particularly hard for lots of families. Due to the impact of welfare reform, rising poverty levels and the pressure on the food banks, they were also worrying about the additional expense of Christmas which was adding to their already high stress levels

Once again, we want to pass on a huge thank you to our team for their support and know that they helped spread a little joy at Christmas.

We’re delighted to have been able to offer Ian Attwood a full-time role with the BioteCH4 group as our Technical Manager. Ian officially joined the team on April 6th after working with us as a consultant for several years now on a variety of projects.
